Our love and passion for breeding birds originally started as children, breeding budgies in the backyard! We started breeding birds together in 1989, predominantly breeding and hand raising Budgies, Cockatiels and Peachfaces and selling them at the Cannon Hill Flea Market.
When it all started...
In 2003 we had a vision of ‘going big’ with bird breeding and this is where our idea of finding our perfect block came to fruition and the mission was set to find our perfect block for our aviaries. We fell in love with a property that had this large, flat area which was perfect for our aviary complexes…. We were lucky enough to snaffle up our prime acreage 40 minutes West of Ipswich, where we still are today! Luckily enough for us, the house was perfect too!!! 😊
When we moved into our perfect acreage, we started with 100 aviaries, today we have approximately 200. So safe to say, we continue to grow our love for our hobby of breeding birds! Our block continues to impress us, and we are constantly striving to improve our aviaries for our beloved birds, our favourite aviary complex, overlooks our dam and we must say, the view isn’t too bad…
In the 30 years that we have been breeding birds, we would have to say our love and passion for breeding multiple combinations hasn’t once wavered and our desire to breed our favourite mutation is still at the forefront of our breeding programs. That would be the lovely Opaline Cleartail Indian Ringnecks in the full colour range, working towards Cinnamon Opaline Cleartail Indian Ringneck, which we should breed this year!
We are also working on the rarest Indian Ringneck mutation in Australia, the magnificent Dilute Indian Ringneck, which are simply a stunning bird and have a very impressive and extensive future in aviculture!
